Daily ways I use it.
Today, I want to share how AI has revolutionized my daily routine, especially as someone who grapples with grammar and spelling. AI has been nothing short of a game-changer.
Gone are the days when I had to wait for my husband or someone else to proofread my emails, blog posts, and other writings. AI tools like ChatGPT and Grammarly have given me the independence and confidence I need to handle these tasks on my own. But that's not all - they also help me fine-tune my tone. Let's face it, we all have moments when our messages might come off as a bit snarky or less professional than intended. This is especially true when dealing with challenging situations, like a difficult parent conversation. With these AI tools, I can express my thoughts and have them transformed into empathic, professional responses. These have become two of my favorite daily prompts.
I also use it to edit this newsletter. I think of AI as my editor.
As the only librarian in a school with over 2400 students, I constantly look for ways to make my job more manageable, and AI has been such a help. Here are two examples of how AI is making a difference for me this month:
Social Media Magic with Canva: Thanks to Canva's Schedule Post feature, I've been able to plan a month's worth of Black History Month posts. ChatGPT helps me generate content, which I then bring to life using Canva's fantastic AI features. These posts are scheduled to go live daily throughout February, ensuring consistent engagement with our school community.
Revamping 'Blind Date a Book': February's 'Blind Date a Book' display is a personal favorite, but writing clever book synopses used to be a daunting task for me. ChatGPT has changed that completely. Now, I input the book title, ask for a brief synopsis, and voilà – it’s done for me. These synopses are printed and added to the books, making the entire process much smoother and more enjoyable.
