Ideally, all school districts should adopt an AI Policy. Since I am both an educator and school board member, I know that what should happen and what does happen are often two different things. I also know that school district policies don’t usually change unless there are some laws that have changed. However, with the introduction of generative AI, we have seen a dramatic shift in how information can be delivered to students and also how students can deliver information to teachers. Schools need to come up with ways to regulate generative AI. The infographic I made below explains why you need one for at least your classroom.
